Note: How to protect your White Walls and Raised White Lettering
Statement concerning the protection of the white walls:  Upon receipt of your Goodyear wide white wall or raised white letter classic tires, and prior to the fitment to the vehicle, do not allow the black portion of any other tire to encounter the white wall or raised white letters of the tires being installed. Should this happen you will notice a radius or circumferential brown carbon black transfer stain. This stain only happens during the process of tire installation when the tires are unwrapped and most vulnerable. This stain can be successfully removed, however not with conventional white wall cleaners.  Please make sure the tire technician doing the installing of your classic Goodyear tires is fully aware of the proper handling procedures.

The 1968 Stingray was the start of a new generation Corvette. This platform involved several chassis design changes to include wider based tire and wheel assemblies. The engineers from GM chassis design working in conjunction with their counterparts at Goodyear, advanced tire development by designing the F70/15 Goodyear Speedway wide tread, and what a tire it is. Although belted bias construction existed, the belted tires caused the Stingray chassis to begin drifting when cornering at a lower rate of speed. That had to go, the Goodyear Speedway non-belted tire solved the problem. Allowing the Corvette to attain a higher level of performance.

JUST A WORD ABOUT THE USE OF NYLON:
Nylon body ply tires were exclusively used on this high performance platform to further enhance impact resistance and heat dissipation. Lessons learned from NASCAR, F-1, Indy car and drag racing. Goodyear F70/15 Speedway Wide Treads are unique in bringing you this total O.E. package. Maximum performance on the street or judging field, with Goodyear you’re “Doing It Right”.
Construction: 2-ply nylon tubeless.

NOTES:
The ’68 corvette was delivered with 7” rims, thus the inflated section width will be reduced to 8.75”. ’69 thru ’72 Corvettes all used 8” rim section widths.
It should be noted that the last 2000 Corvettes produced in ’69 could have been fitted with the raised white letter version of this tire. This is the PU9 code on the tank sticker, should yours still be with the car. N/F – This designation used by Goodyear in ’68 and ’69 only. N/F means “non flat spotting”. This pertained to the type of nylon fabric used in these tires and is so contained in the construction statement of the tires to be used for authentic ’68 and ’69 Corvette restoration.

Yes, the Shelby. A torrid vehicle requiring a companion tire. Goodyear’s Speedway lineup provided the answer with the Speedway 350. It only took two words on this vehicle to let you know you were in fast company, Goodyear and Shelby. When your “all in and all done” the Goodyear Speedway 350 is the tire exclusively used by Shelby for ’67 and ’68.

SOME SHELBY NOTES
As a running production change on the 1969 model, Shelby went to the Boss 302 front spindles and heavy duty rear springs which required them to use F60 tires. However there wasn’t a single car cutoff where the smaller tires stopped and the larger tires began. And a handful of cars with the upgraded spindles and rear springs came through with the smaller tires in order that Shelby was able to use up what he still had in inventory.
#0001 - #1887 non Hertz cars with E70 tires
#1888 - #1930  First batch of cars solid to Hertz using upgraded suspension but with E70 tires.
#1931 - #1966 non Hertz cars built with upgraded suspension and F60 tires.
#1967 - #2073 2nd batch of cars sold to Hertz using upgraded suspension but with E70 tires.
#2074 - #3295  non Hertz cars with F60 tires.
#2303 & #2378 two Hertz cars built with upgraded suspension and F60 tires.

E70/15 Goodyear Speedway 350 Small Letters
Yes, the Shelby. A torrid vehicle requiring a companion tire. Goodyear’s Speedway lineup provided the answer with the Speedway 350. It only took two words on this vehicle to let you know you were in fast company, Goodyear and Shelby. When your “all in and all done” the Goodyear Speedway 350 is the tire exclusively used by Shelby for ’67 and ’68.

The Goodyear Speedway 350 “small letter” tire is for ’67 Shelby cars only. A point of interest: The Goodyear “large letter” E70/15 Speedway 350 tires were used on the first 7% - 9% of the ’67 Shelby vehicle production. The remaining ’67 Shelby vehicle production used the “small letter” E70/15 Goodyear Speedway 350 tire. The “large letter” version returned in “68.
